Bite Prevention Training

In Australia it has been estimated that each year more than 100,000 people are attacked by dogs and the Accident and Emergency departments in public hospitals treat between 12,000 to 14,000 dog bite injuries (ACAC 6⁄2007). Almost 50% of dog bite injuries are caused by the family pet and children up to 4 years old are most at risk (ICCWA 9⁄2010).

To help children be safe around dogs I also run a bite prevention program for schools on a volunteer basis (ie no charge). Program materials are used by many humane societies across the U.S. and Canada and have all been reviewed by experts.
